A visit to M.F.K. Fisher’s “Last House”

By
September 3, 2008

We recently noted the 100th anniversary of the birth of M.F.K. Fisher, the revered food writer whose colorful life — and works — served as inspiration to many readers and eaters. One of those fans, Michelle Green, recently visited Fisher’s final home, a small house on a ranch near Glen Ellen, California, and wrote about it for the New York Times. Currently a private residence, the home still offers something of Fisher for the lucky pilgrim, although this may be the only peek you get; few are allowed access to the private preserve where the home sits.
