In case you haven’t heard of it, there’s a website called Food 52 that’s aiming to pull together the best recipes from home cooks via weekly themed contests, such as “Your Best Cranberry Sauce.” (The results will eventually be published in a cookbook — the “52” is for the 52 weeks of the year.) Run by New York Times food writer and editor Amanda Hesser and freelance recipe-tester and food writer Merrill Stubbs, the site is currently facilitating a cookbook tournament, which pits current cookbooks against one another as judged by such food experts as chef Gabrielle Hamilton and actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Check it out before the tournament ends on November 9.
