When it comes to GMO foods and pesticides, Sam Fromartz puts it pretty succinctly:
Despite industry claims to the contrary, the adoption of genetically engineered crops has led to a dramatic increase in pesticide use over 13 years, according to a new report.
Herbicide use, Fromartz notes on his Chews Wise blog, has also gone up, as farmers battle chemical-resistant “superweeds.”
Guest blogger Lisa M. Hamilton, meanwhile, recently posted on Chews Wise about the vicious agricultural cycles in the Midwest this year. What’s the mess? Rain, overplanting, mold, and more.
