Best known for his novel Everything is Illuminated (and, to a lesser extent, for being one of the Young Turks of current New York novelists), Jonathan Safran Foer has a new book coming out: Eating Animals. Like Culinate contributor Matthew Amster-Burton’s Hungry Monkey, the book is ostensibly about Safran Foer feeding his offspring. But Eating Animals — a work of nonfiction — spirals off into memoir, investigative journalism, and philosophy. Want a preview?
