On the Atlantic’s food channel recently, science writer Ellen Ruppel Shell took note of a 2007 book titled Chicken: The Dangerous Transformation of America’s Favorite Food, sort of a Fast Food Nation focused only on America's love affair with cheap chicken products. Shell’s fave quote? “Americans are destroying their bodies by consuming the wrong foods, and immigrants are destroying their bodies by producing those foods.”
