Pollan condensed, broadcast

By
October 22, 2008

Michael Pollan’s recent memo to the next president, "Farmer in Chief" — published a couple of weeks ago in the New York Times Magazine — may have scared off a few readers by its sheer 11-page-long magnitude. Happily, Michael Ruhlman has provided a quick list of the piece’s main suggestions on his blog; not surprisingly, a lively discussion has ensued in the comments section. Need more Pollan? Listen to Monday's edition of NPR’s “Fresh Air,” where Pollan tells Terry Gross why his idea to plant a garden on the White House lawn is anything but “preposterous.”
