Need a quick chocolate-cake fix? Here’s something to try: Wired’s cake in a mug. Basically, it’s an barely-better-than-cake-mix combination of flour, premade hot chocolate mix, eggs, oil, and water. Not fancy, but hey: It cooks in five minutes.

Even if you won’t be baking this, you should check out the rise (the top video) and fall (the bottom video) of the batter.
