The American writer Charles Henry Baker, Jr. (1895-1987) worked as a food-and-drink writer in the 1940s. Jigger, Beaker, and Glass was originally published in 1946 as The Gentleman’s Companion: Being an Exotic Cookery and Drinking Book. His other books include Knife, Fork, and Spoon: Eating Around the World.
