Thompson is a food writer, stylist, culinary developer, and author of three cookbooks. He writes a weekly column for the Raleigh News & Observer. In addition, he teaches at the Institute for Culinary Education, the Greenbrier, and the Viking Culinary Centers. He lives in New York City and Raleigh, North Carolina.
