Armstrong got his culinary start at age 13 when he worked with Wolfgang Puck at the newly opened Spago. He has worked at several restaurants around California, including City Restaurant, Postrio, and Pinot Hollywood; he has also worked in restaurants in Europe, including Restaurant Akelare and Restaurant Arzak. He currently owns and runs the California restaurant Chadwick and the California-Florida chain of restaurants called Table 8. Small Bites, Big Nights is his first book.
