Chamberlain’s publications include biography (Nietzsche in Turin), fiction (In a Place Like That), and criticism (The Secret Artist: A Close Reading of Sigmund Freud). But she began her career writing about food. For her, food was a way of relaxing and of getting to know the Russian people beyond politics.
