Located in Ithaca, New York, Moosewood, Inc., is a collectively owned business with 19 members. Moosewood began in 1973 as a small natural-foods restaurant. Through its many cookbooks (the well-known cookbook writer Mollie Katzen was an early Moosewood chef), the Moosewood Collective has become nationally known for its healthful, often vegetarian, take on cooking and eating.
