About Richard Olney

Olney (1927–1999) is best known for his books of French country cooking, including Simple French Food. He was also the editor of the 27-volume Time-Life book series The Good Cook. His focus on seasonal cuisine influenced the development of California cuisine in the 1970s and his books are still widely read today.
