Full Moon Feast
Food and the Hunger for Connection
Overview
From Culinate
Organized around the 13 lunar cycles of an agrarian year, Full Moon Feast connects food with the land, cultures, and traditions it comes from. Each lunar cycle is introduced by stories, prayers, nutritional facts, and myths, inviting the reader to consider food beyond preparation and consumption. Though recipes are from around the world, Prentice generally centers her foods on local ingredients. The book contains a thoughtful foreword by Deborah Madison, in which she describes it as being closer to Walden Pond than Joy of Cooking.
