Jar Cookies for Teachers--Cinnamon Oatmeal Cranberry

Share the love with your child’s teachers this holiday season. Homemade delicious and nutritious Jar Cookies make a delightful, affordable gift that lasts up to 6 months.

Ingredients

¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
¾ cup craisins
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose wheat flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt

Steps

  1. Mix together wheat flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Layer ingredients beginning in this order-- brown sugar, white sugar, craisins, oats, flour mixture--in a 1 quart “wide mouth” canning jar. It will be a tight fit, make sure you firmly pack down each layer.
  2. Instructions to attach to jar: Cinnamon Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies. Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl and stir until blended. Add: ¾ cup butter or margarine softened at room temp. Stir in one egg, slightly beaten. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix, drop walnut size cookie balls onto oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 11 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes. Remove cookies to baking racks to finish cooling.
