Eating local benefits the local farmers, lowers CO2 emissions, and is often healthier. Organic food is good, and there are many conventional farmers that are “in between” conventional and organic as they are in the process of switching to organic which takes years to certify.

Ask your local farmer at the farmers’ market how they grow your food and sample to your heart’s content!

This site is great because you get an idea of what local produce you can expect throughout the year. This is just the beginning of what’s out there, so please don’t consider this a comprehensive list. Nonetheless, it’s pretty sweet because it links you to recipes. Ingredients will be obscure no longer!
