Oregon

Fruit

In northwest Oregon, the Fruit Loop isn’t a cereal, it’s a scenic drive through the orchards surrounding Mount Hood. The Hood River County Fruit Loop website lists the websites of several area farms; click on any to check out local cherries, pears, and apples, as well as preserves, nuts, and wines.

Wine

Oregon’s wine regions may not be as old as California’s, but they’re doing just fine. The state is known for its pinots, including those sold by Domaine Drouhin, Montinore, Ankeny Vineyard, and King Estate.

Coffee

Oregon’s beer gets a lot of press, but its coffee’s not bad either. Local Portland favorite Stumptown Coffee roasts its own beans and sells them to coffeeshops around town; you can also order it online by the pound.

Mushrooms

Eugene’s MycoLogical Wild Products sells fresh mushrooms, but it’s the company’s dried mushrooms you’re most likely to see packaged for sale in grocery stores. MycoLogical sells mushrooms both solo and mixed, including porcini, morels, matsutakes, and chanterelles.
