Foodies — and others who just know good food — love the smoked-slab bacon from Nueske's, a family-owned business that uses traditional recipes for curing and smoking. Other meats are also available.
Based in Dodgeville, Uplands Cheese is best known for its award-winning Pleasant Ridge Reserve, “an artisanal farmstead cheese made in the style and tradition of mountain cheeses from the alpine regions of France.” The washed-rind cheese is made from raw milk from a single herd of cows.
