Peach Sauce

From the collection

Introduction

Spoon this simple peach sauce over pancakes or Belgian waffles, vanilla ice cream or yogurt, or slices of pound cake or angel-food cake.

Ingredients

4 peaches
1 vanilla bean, scored in half and seeds removed
~ Juice from ½ orange
~ Sugar, if necessary

Steps

  1. Pit, skin, and slice the peaches.
  2. In a small pot, combine peaches, vanilla, and orange juice.
  3. Simmer over low to medium heat until the juices are released and the mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Add sugar, if necessary, and cook until dissolved.
