This is my grandmother’s recipe for Chicken Kaukswe which is a favorite Burmese breakfast. My grandmother was a missionary to Burma and learned how to make Ohno Kaukswe while she was there. Ohno Kaukswe is The Burmese Chicken Noodle Soup.

| 5 | medium onions | |
| 4 | cloves of garlic | |
| ¼ | cup peanut oil | |
| 2 | tsp. chili powder | |
| 4 | Tbsp. split pea flour | |
| 1 | coconut | |
| 3 | cups boiling water | |
| 1 | lb. egg noodles | |
| ~ | Garnish: | |
| 5 | hard boiled eggs | |
| 2 | limes | |
| ⅛ | cabbage shredded | |
| 1 | bunch green onions | |
| 1 | bunch cilantro | |
| ½ | cup chopped peanuts |
