Thank you, this is easy and yummy, too. Might be nice with pears or peaches, too.
Fruit close to its source by Kathy Gehrt on Apr 14, 2010 at 9:18 PM PDT
Fresh fruit makes a fantastic dessert or snack. April in Seattle offers very little fresh locally grown fruit. About the only one that comes to mind is the one you mentioned - Rhubarb. Last week, I poached rhubarb in white wine with a vanilla bean and lavender-infused sugar. While it was still warm, I drizzeled this sauce over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.Delish. Can’t wait to try your rhubarb recipe.
Sweet Winter Berry Salad by Kathy Gehrt on Jan 3, 2010 at 10:03 AM PST
This recipe is so tempting and healthy! Can’t wait to try it, I am wondering about adding slivered almonds or chopped walnuts to add a little crunch. The apples, arugula and goat cheese--- YUM!
Thanks for posting!

Ivy,
These recipes sound yummy. I will be making the Grilled Ceasar Salad today. Grilling romaine, easy and delicous, is especially nice on a cold day. The tomotao fennel soup would also be great when ice and snow are in the forecast. Thanks for sharing.

Making the most of quince by Kathy Gehrt on Dec 10, 2009 at 5:59 PM PST
Great article. I poached some quince this winter, and made quince jelly with the poaching liquid. Your idea of making a quince syrup to use for drinks, desserts or to spoon over ice cream is a fantastic one! Thank you!

Love these tips! Thanksgiving preparation can be a real joy with a little advance planning. Cooking while watching a movie is something we have not tried. This is a great idea!
