Love this. Such a great ending, and I want to point, laugh and roll my eyes at the ex. What a pretentious twit.
And now I want a BLT. That picture looks so yummy.
I have a 5.5 cup version of the same rice cooker, and I agree - it’s the perfect kitchen appliance. I love everything about it. It’s a true “set it and forget it” cooker.
It’s also a great steamer, and can function as a small slow cooker (probably best for soups). It’s also good for making things like steel cut oats (if you’re into that - not my favorite thing).
It’s so easy to store, too. I love the retractable cord, and the paddle storage on the side. I highly recommend it.
Such a wonderful essay. Very touching - I loved every word. I completely agree with you about the purpose of the book, and find it very disappointing when people miss the point.
I loved the movie, and soon after read Julia’s book “My Life in France”. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.
Thank you again for such a wonderful read.
My absolute favorite is The Tex-Mex Cookbook: A History in Recipes and Photos by Robb Walsh. Everything I’ve made from it is so good, and I love the history and photos of Tex-Mex food as well.
Looks like a great book! I’d love a copy, so I can learn how to properly use my wok.
So many things I’m waiting for! Strawberries, blueberries, peaches, corn, onions, squash, potatoes - I could go on and on. And not just produce - I can’t wait to buy herb plants, and flowers, as well as fresh honey. I’m fortunate enough to work just a couple of miles away from the farmers market, so I can easily stop by any day on my way home.
