Inspiring! I think that I’ll order some for fall planting.

Have you ever tried freezing them?

Can i come to your house for Thanksgiving?

Harmonious Hummus by Angela Pak on Aug 19, 2010 at 5:34 AM PDT

I love the tip about freezing ginger. I’ve never tried that before. I can’t wait to try this hummus!

Vacation Breakfast by Angela Pak on Jun 18, 2010 at 3:17 PM PDT

That sounds delicious! Funny - I ate Bab’s 8 grain for breakfast this morning.

Not eating animals by Angela Pak on Apr 11, 2010 at 6:35 PM PDT

What I think it comes down to is that we all need to make our own decisions regarding what we are willing to eat. Some people are not ready to reflect deeply on their food choices, and that’s just where they’re at. I agree with Dominique, why are we so unwilling to abandon a meat-based diet?

How to Go Veg, part 1 by Angela Pak on Mar 27, 2010 at 10:58 AM PDT

This is a GREAT article. I think that it would a great way to refresh and restart for spring.

Mardi Gras, Emeril Goes Vegan by Angela Pak on Feb 7, 2010 at 7:42 PM PST

I’ve never eaten seitan - this sounds delicious! I read a blog called “Healthy Happy. Life.” She did the same challenge. The blog is:

I think that what is so puzzling is that people can get quite angry about people who don’t eat animals. A few days ago, someone asked me about reasons why someone would want to avoid eating meat. I said something about health benefits and cutting cancer risks, and she actually waived her hand at me dismissively, rolled her eyes and blew a puff of air out of her pursed lips. I didn’t reply, but I thought, “hey lady - you asked ME!”

If No Meat or Dairy, No Ravioli? by Angela Pak on Sep 2, 2009 at 6:39 PM PDT

We often make and freeze Korean Mondu, which I assume would act like your ravioli. What we do is freeze them on a cookie sheet coated with waxed paper and later transfer them to freezer bags. Of course the (pre-made) wonton wrappers are lightly coated with flour so they won’t stick. Maybe you could lightly sprinkle the waxed paper with whatever type of flour you are using in the dough? Hope that helps.

If No Meat or Dairy, No Ravioli? by Angela Pak on Aug 30, 2009 at 8:35 AM PDT

This was the BEST vegan dinner dish I’ve ever eaten! It’s better than the non-vegan raviolis I’ve eaten too.

Cans Across America giveaway by Angela Pak on Aug 11, 2009 at 8:05 AM PDT

For a time in my 20s I lived in Hawaii and had a papaya tree in my yard. I made papaya jam to send home to my family for Christmas gifts, but was unsure of the best way to seal the jars. Remembering something my mom had done, I melted and poured parafin wax to seal the jars. I packaged everything in mailing boxes and set them by my door. Luckily, I didn’t mail them for a few days. When I picked up the boxes, I noticed that something had leaked through the paper - the jam jars had all exploded and the papaya jam was EVERYWHERE. Glad no one got THAT Christmas present!

Dream Big & Make Your Own Vanilla by Angela Pak on Jul 22, 2009 at 9:53 PM PDT

I am SO making vanilla!!! Thanks for this - I had no idea.

Vegan Cupcake Fondue! by Angela Pak on Jul 4, 2009 at 10:44 AM PDT

isn’t it true that just when you want something super-special, it all falls apart? I made an anniversary pie that all melted to the bottom of the pie plate. I had to do a redo too, all because I had made one little mistake. Baking and sewing can be so great when everything comes together. Then again, when it doesn’t...I’m glad that he had a good birthday.

Joan Ohm’s Fresh Strawberry Pie by Angela Pak on Jul 1, 2009 at 8:38 PM PDT

I made this pie for an anniversary party and it was EXCELLENT! We served huge pieces with whipped creme, and people were practically licking their plates clean. I used about 1/8 of a cup of sugar less than the recipe called for.
Thank you for an excellent recipe.

Flaky Pie Crust by Angela Pak on Jun 30, 2009 at 3:10 PM PDT

Thank you for this recipe. Though you don’t say, I’m assuming that an unfilled crust is baked at 425 ? I tried 325 and everything melted into the bottom of the pie plate.

Strawberries by Angela Pak on Jun 16, 2009 at 11:27 AM PDT

Last night, we had strawberry crepes, made with fresh eggs and sweetened sour cream - I highly recommend it! Isn’t it odd that the big, local grocery stores are still carrying California berries? They contract with the farmers, and in order to have berries stocked for a good portion of the year, they sign exclusive contracts.

Putting the F in FDA? by Angela Pak on Jun 2, 2009 at 7:15 PM PDT

Oh...and I’m sorry that you could not enjoy your Cheerios in peace.

Putting the F in FDA? by Angela Pak on Jun 2, 2009 at 7:14 PM PDT

Many bureaucracies are created to protect idiots from themselves. I know that’s a rotten generalization, but I’m grumpy. How much unnecessary regulation could we avoid with a little common sense? Plus, why are we so obsessed with safety? Life is full of risk no matter how hard we try to avoid it. The FDA should be putting the brakes on some of those drug companies that are cramming their crap down our throats. Why are they allowed to convince us that going pee too often is a disease?

Olive and Onion Focaccia by Angela Pak on Apr 29, 2009 at 8:55 PM PDT

Everyone in my family loved this. The texture of the bread was perfect -soft yet slightly chewy. I modified the topping to: sea salt, oregano, basil and fresh parmesan. Easy to make. We’ll have sandwiches tomorrow.

Thank you Chirstina.

I’m exhausted and quitting coffee by Angela Pak on Apr 25, 2009 at 10:12 PM PDT

I’m so sad to hear that you feel that you need to give up something you love (and by the way, does have many positive health benefits). This is a little mother hen-ish, but it may be helpful to have your hormones checked. It’s a common cause of exhaustion, and the decline starts in your 30s.
