Matthew, that’s an interesting question, and I don’t know the answer. But I imagine that if they can’t change their diets, or it’s too hard to do so because the high-sodium diet is such an ingrained part of their culture, that there would be a greater reliance on medications to lower blood pressure. In my case, I chose to see if diet could work instead of medication, and it did.
