Maria, I like your point about using an independent appliance store....I could not find the brands I liked (and the ones that Consumer Reports recommends) at big box stores like Home Despot, so we used an independent store for our fridge purchase and got a great price at one of their warehouse sales.

I too would like information on the best exhaust fan for kitchens...anyone know?
