Aquavit, in it’s purest form, is drunk after ans during eating herring or salmon, both oily fish. This lays down the base in your stomach for the aquavit. Also, Scndinvians drink it only with a toast “SKAL” in small glasses. You don’t just sit around and drink it. But for Bloody Marys, it is awesome! And the “dancing” security letters look like we have already had too much aquavit.
