Di, your hubby will thank you...trust me. Would I lie to you? (Doesn’t require an answer...that’s one of those retro questions)

Chew on this! by Trixie on Oct 1, 2009 at 3:50 PM PDT

Okay, that’s one for the books and I suppose you think I’m gonna tell you about the time I tried to cook french fries in water, don’t you? Fat chance.

Chew on this! by Trixie on Sep 28, 2009 at 10:27 AM PDT

Guess what? You can NOW get it in the grocery store at Publix! I’m not lying either. How cool is that?

I can promise you, you won’t find an easier recipe. I will say that I sometimes just throw a bunch of mushrooms in a pan with sliced onions (tons of onions) and then pour EVOO all over them, then spices...baked those babies until they turn black around the edges and oh mama! Time for the “L” word, larapin!

Yes ma’am I did. I love that thing! You can have my remote, you can have my salad spinner, but honey, step awayyyyy from my egg carrier, you know? Some things are just holy.

Sharon, use your hubby’s fist...

Chew on this! by Trixie on Sep 24, 2009 at 11:37 AM PDT

Sharon, let me say I love eggs...and I make some killer deviled ones. Haven’t lost a relative yet!

But I use egg beaters for the calories, fat, and cholesterol that I save. A regular egg has 75 calories, EB has 30 (for 1/4 cup) and as far as fat goes, EB has zero and eggs, 5. Not much, but every little bit helps.

The cholesterol is ZERO for EB, eggs = 210! YIPES!

Now eggs have more protein 6 versus 5 in EB. The EB’s have “stuff” in them too, like the Southwestern one, that saves me from chopping up bell peppers and the like.

Yes, I’m lazy. But I’m so darn cute, you know?

Hope this answers your questions EGGSactly. If not, ask away, girlfriend!

I heard ya, gal. It’s a cruel joke that Mrs Midlife has played on us all. The good news? Well, when one of those whippersnappers start telling you how they can eat any old thing they want and never gain a pound, just snicker silently because WE KNOW midlife doesn’t cull anybody. It will get them in the end (pun intended)...and the middle.

Well now...aren’t you just the nicest “thang” Ms Vickye (said in my best Southern twang). Thank you for dropping by and if you have a recipe that’s healthy and you want me to try it, just remember, if I can chew it, I’ll review it!

Weight watching by Trixie on Sep 22, 2009 at 8:30 AM PDT

Hello everyone...I’m new here and love reading about the healthy side of things. Thanks for your tips. I’ll check out your book, Hip kosher.

I was overweight to the tune of 70+ pounds. I couldn’t afford gym memberships fees or things like Weight Watchers, etc., and forget calling Jenny.

To me it isn’t about losing weight as much as it is learning to eat healthy...for life. Period.

I’ve changed my own eating habits and food, dropping 32 pounds since May. I walk daily, very briskly, and it’s free. I never skip a meal, and never eat “white” things...(sugar, bread, etc). I work from home so planning my meals is a breeze.

Good luck to everyone. I just love this site!
