I love to read-and then modify-recipes, collect old cookbooks, and wing it at the kitchen counter. Mostly, I love to make food that I feel good about cooking, and meals that make people smile.
Mexican-just about all of it, avocado, nuts, halibut, walleye, chevre, lacinato kale, apple, roasted chicken, squash, jalapeno, corn tortillas, sharp cheddar, bbq chicken thighs, bacon, yogurt, curry, shrimp, clementines, fresh pasta, bleu cheese, apricot, sherry vinegar, bread

I am often less inclined to cook just for me.
Nowadays there are certainly finer options in terms of prepared foods, and there’s always take-out(seriously, my fingers just auto-piloted toward “take pit...”).
Cooking for friends and loved ones gives a sense of purpose I guess, but who am I kidding, I also long for the approval;I like hearing the “you’re so great at this” piece of the pie.
It’s a great creative outlet, juicy with flavor, accomplishment, and again,
approval.
How do I cook for just me in an equally fulfilling manner?
