Bitters 101 by asides on Oct 8, 2010 at 7:17 AM PDT

I am one of those who love bitters, will have to try these! Thanks!

Caramel by asides on Jun 15, 2009 at 3:46 AM PDT

It does not taste the same as making it with milk and sugar but it is about the same.

Aw, shucks by asides on Jun 14, 2009 at 8:52 AM PDT

Glad to find someone who loves them like my family does. Seems to be an acquired taste that is made growing up on the shore and shrimping, fishing, and crabbing in the summer.

I use this to make elairs every Christmas, did not realize the dough was so versatile, will have to play.

Applesauce Bread by asides on May 20, 2009 at 7:47 PM PDT

Planing to do this weekend, need one more run, the molasses is a bit too much.

None, it worked out great.

What We Eat When We Eat Alone by asides on May 15, 2009 at 4:06 PM PDT

sounds utterly delish, one I would love to try, but not a big fan of polenta.

Will have to make the pound cake again. I am not a pound cake fan, but this one was thick, moist, melt in your mouth good. Cannot wait to do it again.

Green! by asides on Mar 27, 2009 at 8:54 PM PDT

Not big on attachments but I want one of those scraper blades that have come out. My mother has an ice-cream machine we share.

Green! by asides on Mar 27, 2009 at 8:56 AM PDT

Thanks, I got my original black one (now my sister’s) on sale for 100. I loved it, but I did not get to pick the color. The new one is awesome.

The simple pleasure of infused cream by asides on Mar 24, 2009 at 9:15 AM PDT

This looks delishious, will have to try when I next make elcairs, have been wanting to try something different. Last time I added a strawberry syrup that made the cream great with slices of fresh strawberry.

Really, spaghetti squash is that easy by asides on Mar 17, 2009 at 6:02 PM PDT

I love spagetti squash but I did manage to mess it up once, had to throw it all out. Utterly no taste.

What a wonderful experience and experiment, I bet it could make even Hershey’s divine.

Well, the mixer is on its way! I will put up a post when it gets here.

Love this kind of salad with pecans or walnuts and cranberries.

Butter and Sugar by asides on Feb 24, 2009 at 11:01 AM PST

It’s like trying to explain raw oysters to someone who has never had one, been there. I never did the butter and sugar but me and my sis did do uncooked pasta, potatoes, couscous, hummus, liver, and brussel sprouts as a child(which in the south, lead to some really grossed out lunch-mates at school). My mom is still into trying just about anything and made sure we did the same.

The mixer still has not come in, but hopefully by next week.

Kitchen cleanup by asides on Feb 20, 2009 at 9:35 AM PST

This is something I really need to do, in cleaning my house for a one week rental I keep wondering if I need all the random clutter, but I keep boxing things in my kitchen, (what if the renter used all my baking pans? or all the flour?) I know it’s insane but you can find my priorities, lol. It’s like picking what to keep if a fire ran through.

I already have the people at work making lists of what they want lol. they are my test dummies with recipes :)
