These are everything I hoped they would be! I ate one while still warm and it was underwhelming-dry and not very flavorful. But after the muffins cooled and then sat in airtight containers for a few hours, they transformed into moist, lightly spiced perfection!
I made these tonight, following the directions exactly, and they were fantastic. I love how they’re not very sweet, just a good strong dark chocolate flavor. I will definitely make these again and again.

Encourage early guests to lend you a hand in the kitchen by playing some great music and keeping a bottle of wine open and glasses handy. The kitchen will become the place to hang out, and everyone can have a great time talking and pitching in. (Even if the chores are simple like handing over tools or rinsing off dishes.)

I just attempted to make this, and was sure to read the comments beforehand. I was very careful with the heat and stirring but the butter still separated out. Really disappointed and afraid to try again and ruin another pound of butter.
