whoops...guess we’ll have pasta instead.

started out promising Tomato Soup with Cheese sandwiches for dinner. but no on hand chicken broth but plenty of vodka, I had to change course and made my first vodka tomato pasta sauce ever. Was so good, no one complained about the “comfort food” not gracing the table.

Raspberry buttermilk cake

Went to a garden party last week and needed a simple quick item to bring. This recipe was perfect... pretty light and easy. Found it on a popular recipe site starting with E. I should have taken pictures.

rainbow chard for breakfast

my husband exercises our dog by a community garden, and a fellow dog walker/gardener has been gifting him with tender rainbow chard. I sauteed a beautiful batch and am sitting down to it topped on ciabbata with a fried egg and a sprinkle of parmesan. So yummy, Thank you neighbor.

Oh, and my first batch of yogurt ...

after the Lost Arts class with Chris. My yogurt was made with low fat milk and non fat yogurt. But I loved it. And it was so easy. I actually have two happy mason jars full.

8 minute chocolate pecan cookies

these things are fudgey, brownie, easy and soooo good. no eggs, no baking soda, very very easy. YUM. I made them for a mini birthday treat for my friend who gave me the recipe. Next time, I might add some shredded coconut.

CSA vs. Farmers Market? To each their own

My partner and I are not organized enough to handle a CSA, While we can go down to the market and pick up this lovely vegetable, that charming mushroom, Habenero jelly and perhaps some flowers... When we think about a delivery we know that a CSA would mean the inevitable sacrifice of sad little vegetables to the compost gods.

today’s bread

last week I made irish soda bread to save time, but my partner did not think it sandwich worthy. “Tasty, but too much like biscuit”. So I am making my Oatmeal mixed seed half white half wheat bread and then maybe later I’ll make that lentil ham soup with irish soda bread on the side.
