About M. F. K. Fisher

Mary Frances Kennedy Fisher (1908-1992) was a Californian who lived much of her life in Europe. She worked as a Hollywood screenwriter and novelist, but she is best known for her books of essays on food, which blend memoir, philosophy, and cultural criticism with recipes and advice for living well via the kitchen. She also published a noted translation of Brillat-Savarin’s The Physiology of Taste.
