Cookbook love by jeanne_marie on Dec 23, 2009 at 11:59 AM PST
Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone by Deborah Madison was given to me long ago as a Bday present. It is my cooking bible and even 10 years later, I still look to Deborah for guidance and inspiration. A masterpiece of a book!
Toffee Brittle with Chocolate and Sea Salt by jeanne_marie on Dec 16, 2009 at 12:22 PM PST
Tried to make this recipe and much like Kim Carlson’s post today, I also got a mushy buttery stuff. What am I doing wrong? I also don’t want to waste another pound of butter, but I love toffee too!
Lora Brody’s Multi-Seed Crackerbread by jeanne_marie on Dec 4, 2009 at 4:32 PM PST
Just got done making these crackers and they are amazing! Crispy and very flavorful. I used tarragon and thyme for the herbs and sesame and poppy seeds. Course salt too. Highly recommend them, plus they were a joy to make!
Pumpkin Chocolate Cookies by jeanne_marie on Nov 10, 2009 at 1:29 PM PST
At first I wasn’t crazy about these cookies. I anticipated a chewy buttery chocolate chip cookie infused w/ pumpkin, and instead got a soft muffin-like puff cookie. After eating a few, they grew on me. Went well in the morning w/ black tea! Great flavor.
