Tom’s bday in Chile

From Kari Easton — Blog by
October 24, 2009

Evelyn and I made Catherine’s Carrot Cake with no baking soda and no idea of what temp the oven was (there is only a blank dial on our little gas oven). Voila! A delicious, one layer (the only baking pan in the kitchen) cake weighted down with cream cheese frosting. We had thirds.
p.s. We doubled the baking powder AND we did have a little dinner before our desert: Garbanzos with Cumin. A hit with everyone but Henry, who swears he will never, ever like Garbanzos.
