Similar to walking into my boyfriend’s garage to the startling sight of a big doe hanging from a hook, and watching as over the next week or so she goes from being Bambi, to a dead animal, to a carcass, to a winter’s worth of meat wrapped in butcher paper and stored in the freezer.
