Please when you are talking about the food safety modernization act, give your readership more to feed on that the tiny bit of information at the beginning of the post. The Tester Amendment would exempt small family farms from the draconian measures sought by the bill, SB 510, that would certainly put them out of business overnight. PLEASE, have your readership call this weekend, and urge them to NOT support this bill without the needed amendments. This is a dire time, and we need to keep local, sustainable, organic family farms ALIVE and supported by us all! Please google it or see Farm to Consumer, Organic Consumers, Weston A Price, etc...there are thousands of people that are opposing this bill and Culinate stands for real food, real people, real issues. Please correct this post! They are lying to us once again about ‘safety’ and what they really want to do!

Fantastic! Saw it at the opening here in LA; the director was here too. This may be THE pivotal movie to finally, completely, wake up Americans to the decades long coverup of industrial food. Thank goodness we are on this path! Everyone needs to spread the word and take people THAT DO NOT HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING. I assume most of the readers here have a clue; preaching to the choir. Glad that older children will go, and WONDERFUL that parents are making the right choices for the future citizens of our world. THANK YOU to you all, and keep voting with your forks!!!

Nice to see that so many people are interested in what they eat! Palm oil is easily found at Whole Foods by a company called Jungle Porducts; they do coconut too. Rice bran oil also has medicinal qualities that i believe are reported to lower cholesterol??Check this. Another oil that is fantastic and difficult to find is TEA OIL. The Republic of Tea used to make it, but not certain they still do. It is no taste, can handle high heat and lovely color. About Canola-avoid if possible. See the Weston A Price Foundation for info about it. i wouldn’t touch it! Yes, sauteing in extra virgin olive oil will destroy the nutritional properties, so use another grade of oil; use a bit of coconut with it and it will buffer it, or so i have read. i also use homemade chicken, beef or veggie stock for sauteing, then use the oils once the food is cooked. Hope this all helps!
