Everyone should come out to the Taste of St. Louis this weekend! Stop by the L’Ecole Culinaire tent for some duck confit quesadillas!
Yum!! I just posted a recipe for a bean spread. This quick easy bean spread tastes great as a spread, veggie or chip dip and on sandwiches!
Just posted a recipe for a savory chanterelle mushroom flan. I haven’t had a chance to experiment with it at all yet (because chanterelles are out of season, expensive and hard to find in my neck of the woods) but I hope you all enjoy!!
Today was my first day of 102: Fundamentals of Baking at L’Ecole Culinaire today. I am looking forward to starting my homework!
Well while I am in St. Louis 17th St. Bar and Grill in O’Fallon IL. It is owned and run by Mike “The Legend” Mills. My mom is the GM and they needed lots of extra help so I was happy to jump in! Stop by and see me sometime and have some great bbq!
I’m cooking lasagna for my sister and her friend. I feel a little out of my element because the only spices they have in their pantry are chili powder, pepper, and cumin...Yikes!
I got my Gillian McKeith book in the mail today! Just in time to start reading it on the 10 hour drive to Springfield, MO. I’ve already packed lots of tasty snacks (like homemade granola) for the trip!
We had pork and mushroom won tons with a honey/chili dipping sauce last night so tonight I’m cooking bibimbap! I can’t think of a better way to use up the left over veggies. I’m excited about spicing it up with the left over dipping sauce too!
We had mushroom and pork won tons with a honey and chili dipping sauce, steamed rice and fresh veggies (broccoli, green onions, and sugar snap pea pods). It sure did hit the spot!
a really good gumbo recipe. If you have one and are willing to share let me know!
I’m cooking curry for the first time! It smells great so far. I’m using Sona Pai’s recipe and can’t wait to try it!
I’m doing breakfast for dinner too! I have some butter milk I need to use up and a recipe for pancakes that is to die for! It’s a super old recipe that was my bf’s great grandmothers. Even though I’m not officially part of the family his mom was kind enough to pass it along to me.
I came across a great recipe for a spice bread with maple butter. Luckily, I have all the ingredients in my pantry. I can’t wait to try it!
I just pulled a chocolate torte out of the oven. It smells amazing!! I told my boyfriend I would wait until he got home from work to eat it but I don’t know if I can do that!
I made a huge batch of potato soup this evening and I’m so glad I did. It’s even better than the last time I made it, but that could be because I’m eating it while watching the Westminster Dog Show. I mean who doesn’t like home-made soup and puppy dogs!
I’ve got bread baking in the oven and just started a pot of chili on the stove. After cooking the beans I added the left over broth to my tomato sauce to add extra flavor!
I’ve been working on maturing a sourdough starter for a week. Today I am baking my first loaf of bread with it. So far everything smells great! I can’t wait to taste it and share some with friends!
