i grew up in sacramento, california, the home of nearly all california agriculture. i should have figured out that i liked (read: loved) food earlier in life than i did: i mean really, what 10 year old was making salads using oil and vinegar in 1959? i moved to san francisco for college and stayed there for 30 years. since then, i’ve lived in petaluma, ca. (chicken city), sonoma, ca. (do i really have to say, “wine”?), oakland, ca. (food city for sure with more than a nod to berkeley), bainbridge island, wa. (what was i thinking?) and now seattle-- let’s talk real fish.
