Beef teriyaki with Carrie Floyd’s Vegetable Fried Rice
Tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil, balsamic vinegar, paprika. Peppers if the ones in the frig are still good.

Last night: pot roast with local grass fed beef, store-bought potatoes, onions and carrots; and MY OWN big Brandywine tomatoes
Cottage cheese with sliced tomato, beet, chopped carrot and the petals of an edible chrysanthemum. The beet turned out to be bitter, which made everything else taste funny. A very sad ending for a salad I’ve been looking forward to....
I don’t have any actual recommendations...but I accidentally found Upick strawberries in my area under the Farm and Garden heading on Craigslist.
Craving for red meat. Hamburgers, big fat ones, on ciabatta rolls with grilled onions, colby cheese, and big slabs of avocado.
Craving still not satisfied...what it really wants is steak.
Lunch was couscous cooked in chicken broth with browned onions, raisins, and a little kefir.
Modified the Pork Buns recipe in the 5-minute a day bread book by using turkey--simmered in chilis and tomatoes and then baked in a bread with cornmeal in the dough.
Two eggs, two slices of bread, one bottle syrup. French toast, an egg over easy. Dinner.
About 3 cups chicken broth (store bought, left over and open in frig). About 1/3 cup rice. Cooked together ‘til rice was soft, added the last tablespoon of Beecher’s aged cheese.
2 - beautiful - just came out of oven - pics later. Cherries were pie cherries from farmer’s market that I pitted and froze ready to use (with sugar added) this summer.
Local pastured turkey, sides of stuffing, yams, mashed potatos
The big Christmas dinner is postponed, probably until Saturday. I’m about to fix some toasted (store-bought) raisin bread with and spread a thick layer of butter on it. Coffee, of course.
A little appetizer of dilly beans from last summer followed by a cheese omellette with sharp Tillamook cheddar.
Leftover chicken and dumplings, with cinnamon toast for desert.
